The school’s commitment

Școala Gimnazială „Ion Pop Reteganul” Reteag (“Ion Pop Reteganul” Lower Secondary School, Reteag) is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with Government Emergency Ordinance no. 112/2018 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies, approved by Law no. 90/2019. The Ordinance transposes Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

This accessibility statement applies to the school’s official website, in its Romanian, English and Hungarian language versions.

Compliance status

The website is partially compliant with the applicable accessibility requirements (the European standard EN 301 549, which includes the WCAG 2.1 Guidelines, level AA). The reasons are listed in the next section.

Our target is WCAG 2.1 level AA. No independent accessibility audit has yet been carried out.

Non-accessible content

The content below is not accessible for the following reason: non-compliance with the accessibility requirements:

  • Documents published on Google Drive. Some of the school’s documents (in particular older PDF documents) are published on Google Drive. Many of them are scans or lack a heading structure, alternative text or a correct reading order. Screen readers may not read them at all or may read them incorrectly. We will gradually replace the most frequently consulted documents with accessible versions.
  • Placeholder images. Until we obtain photographs for which the consent of the people photographed (or of the parents, in the case of pupils) exists, some pages use placeholder images. These do not convey information about the school, and their alternative text is generic.
  • The Google map. The map loaded on request from Google Maps is a third-party service which the school does not control. The school’s address is also written as text next to the map.

We do not claim disproportionate burden for any content.

What the website does for accessibility

  • The accessibility panel, available on every page, lets you choose: text size, text spacing, a font that is easier to read for people with dyslexia, high contrast, a light or dark theme, modes for different types of colour vision, reduced animations, link underlining, an enlarged cursor and a reading guide.
  • The settings are kept only in your browser. Details in the Cookie policy.
  • The website is designed to be usable from the keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
  • The first element on every page is the “Skip to content” link, to bypass the menu.
  • The pages have structured headings and a site map.
  • The website respects the system setting for reducing animations.

This statement was prepared on 16 October 2026.

Method used: self-assessment carried out by the team that developed the website, based on the WCAG 2.1 level AA criteria.

We will update the statement after every significant change to the website and after any audit.
